Leprechaun Lawns (“Leprechaun Lawns,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have about your information. It applies to leprechaunlawns.ca, our landing pages, our Facebook and Instagram interactions, and any service we provide to you. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If you have any concerns about how we handle your personal information, you can contact us at any time using the information in Section 11.

Leprechaun Lawns is a Calgary-based outdoor services company providing residential and commercial lawn care, fertilization, weed control, pest control, snow removal, and exterior and seasonal lighting services.

Information we collect

a) Information you give us directly

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and property address — when you request a quote, fill out a contact form, send us a message, or sign up for one of our seasonal programs.
  • Payment information — when you purchase a program online (processed through our payment provider; we do not store full credit card numbers on our servers).
  • Information about your property — front yard size, lawn condition, pets on the property, services requested.
  • Communications — messages, photos, or other content you send us through email, text, our website, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, or phone.

b) Information we collect automatically

  • Website usage data — pages visited, time spent, links clicked, device type, browser, approximate location (city-level), and referral source. Collected via cookies and analytics tools (see Section 4).
  • Advertising identifiers — the Meta Pixel and Google tracking pixels collect anonymized identifiers when you visit our site after clicking one of our ads, so we can measure ad performance.

c) Information from third parties

  • If you contact us through Facebook or Instagram, we receive your name and Facebook/Instagram username from Meta.
  • If you click an ad, we receive a click identifier from the advertising platform.
  • If we send you to a payment processor, we receive transaction confirmation and limited payment metadata (last 4 digits of card, transaction ID). 

 

How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Provide quotes, schedule services, deliver lawn care, and complete transactions.
  • Communicate with you about your service – including text messages, emails, and phone calls related to scheduling, applications, and follow-up.
  • Send you marketing communications about our services, seasonal offers, and updates – only if you have given us express consent or are an existing customer (see Section 6 for your rights to unsubscribe).
  • Improve our website, our services, and our advertising – including measuring which ads work and which do not.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations – including tax, accounting, and consumer protection law.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and measure how visitors use the site. The main categories of cookies we use are:

Essential cookies

  • Required for the website to function (e.g., remembering form input as you complete it). These cannot be turned off.

Analytics cookies

  • Google Analytics 4 — measures aggregate traffic and behaviour. IP addresses are anonymized.
  • Microsoft Clarity (or Hotjar, if used) — records anonymized session interaction to identify usability issues.

Advertising cookies

  • Meta Pixel — tracks page views and conversion events to measure Facebook and Instagram ad performance. Allows us to show you ads you may find relevant on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking — measures Google Ads performance.

Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies — though doing so may affect how parts of our site function. You can also opt out of personalized advertising at youradchoices.ca.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary for them to provide their services to us:

  • HighLevel (LeadConnector) — our customer relationship management and marketing automation platform. Stores your contact information, message history, and service records.
  • Payment processors — to process payments for our services.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram) — for advertising performance measurement and to enable Messenger / DM communication when you reach out through their platforms.
  • Google — for analytics and Google Ads.
  • Email and SMS sending providers — to deliver communications you have consented to receive.
  • Professional advisors (accountants, lawyers) — when necessary for legal or financial purposes.
  • Law enforcement or regulators — when required by law.

All of our service providers are contractually required to protect your personal information and use it only for the purposes we have specified. Some service providers (Meta, Google) are located outside Canada, primarily in the United States. By using our website, you consent to your information being processed in those jurisdictions, subject to those countries’ applicable laws.

Your right and choices

Under PIPEDA and Alberta PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw your consent for us to use your information for marketing purposes.
  • Unsubscribe from email or SMS marketing at any time.
  • Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to any legal or contractual obligations we have to retain it.
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca).

Marketing communications and CASL compliance

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires us to obtain your consent before sending you commercial electronic messages (CEMs) such as marketing emails or SMS messages.

  • Express consent – when you fill out a quote form, request information, or check a marketing-opt-in box, you give us express consent to send you commercial messages related to our services.
  • Implied consent – if you are an existing customer, we may contact you under CASL’s existing-business-relationship provision for up to two years after your last purchase.
  • Unsubscribing – every marketing email and SMS we send includes an unsubscribe option. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing ce@leprechaunlawns.ca.

How we protect your information

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your personal information, including encrypted website connections (HTTPS), secured CRM access controlled by individual user logins, and regular review of our security practices.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. If we ever experience a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate Canadian authorities as required by law.

How long we keep your information

  • Quote and contact information – kept for up to 2 years after your last interaction, then deleted unless you become a customer.
  • Customer records (active customers) – kept for the duration of our service relationship and up to 7 years after your last service, to comply with Canadian tax and accounting law.
  • Marketing-consent records – kept for 3 years after consent is withdrawn, as proof of compliance with CASL.

Website analytics data – anonymized after 14 months and aggregated only.

Children’s privacy

Our services are intended for adult homeowners and property managers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the law, or the services we provide.
